172nd Road Closure

You may have heard that 172nd is going to be closed starting in June to help facilitate construction of our new roundabout.  Originally the closure was to take place on June 6th, but this has been postponed to June 14th, but this date depends on the weather.

Here is what the WSDOT project website has to say:

  • 172nd closure delayed: The closure of the east leg of 172nd Street at the SR 9 intersection has been delayed because of the wet weather. Crews need dry weather to restripe the intersection. The closure was originally planned to start June 6. It's now postponed.
  • Both directions of SR 9 will remain open during the closure, but the lanes will be narrowed and shifted to the west side of the intersection to help make room for construction of the east half of the roundabout.
