Why a blog?
A Gleneagle Newsletter Committee member has created a “Blog” for the residents of our community. Jody Lenius states “Currently much time and expense goes into the assembling, printing, and
mailing of the newsletter that may or may not be read by those who receive it; a thick, plain looking
newsletter could easily be missed or bypassed amid a stack of more interesting looking mail. In addition members of the younger generation increasingly prefer to read news and mail in a digital format. “By adding a blog, we can reach those residents who prefer to read news in a digital format.
This will also cut down on printing and mailing as publishing a blog is totally, completely free.
The blog will also serve as a forum for the community to converse on posts by having a comments
section. Anyone can comment and even subscribe to comments to stay current with others’ comments. In order to prevent blog comments from becoming an outlet for non-appropriate, offensive
or rude comments, all comments will be reviewed and edited if necessary by the blog editor prior to
posting on the blog. Please keep comments relevant, constructive and non personal.
The committee understands that there are those who will choose to receive a newsletter and that
will continue for those who wish to receive it. We hope that residents who can will choose to
receive the newsletter via email rather then “snail” mail. To sign-up for this option, please
provide your Name, Address and email address to Judy Ness at nessie02@comcast.net so we know which of the members have subscribed and so we can remove you from the mailing list.
