Don't Forget the ACC

As we're heading into that time of year when we start to tackle projects on the outside of our homes, it's a
good idea to plan ahead and get any approvals you might need from the Architectural Control Committee. I think we're all aware that the big projects need approval, like house painting, re-roofing or re-siding, but technically all work on the outside of the home needs to be requested. This includes the often overlooked covering patios or decks, installing sheds, or adding window shutters.

While you don't need approval to do general landscaping or even removal of deciduous trees, you do need to get approval for any removal of evergreen trees. To be on the safe side, read the ACC guidelines before starting any projects.

If you need a copy of the guidelines or have any questions, you can e-mail Mike Waters at md.waters@comcast.net. Approval request forms can be obtained from and submitted to a box marked "ACC" on the porch at this address: 17431 Osprey Road.

Most requests will get answered within one week and you can be on your way to beautifying your home with no fines down the road.
